Two headquarters, one rail, one thesis.
Pre-seed · Pre-launch · Kolkata, India & Dubai, UAE
The gap we saw
Citizenship‑ and residency‑by‑investment is a roughly $50 billion‑a‑year global industry, and it still runs almost entirely on notarized bank letters and SWIFT wires. At the same time, a third of family offices now hold cryptocurrency directly, and more than a hundred countries are actively building a central bank digital currency. Nobody had built the rail connecting the two — the compliance, custody, and settlement infrastructure a government Citizenship or Residency Investment Unit actually needs to accept digital‑asset‑funded capital properly, rather than through an agent quietly converting it to fiat first. ImmiCrypt exists to build that rail. See our full Mandate for the data behind this thesis.
Why Kolkata and Dubai
ImmiCrypt is registered and headquartered in Kolkata, India, with a global headquarters function in Dubai, United Arab Emirates — the same company operating from two cities, not two entities. The choice isn't incidental: India and the UAE are two of the most advanced sovereign digital currency programs in the world today, and they're already talking to each other about it. The Reserve Bank of India has an active digital‑assets pact with Singapore and discussions underway with the UAE; the UAE's Digital Dirham runs on mBridge, the multi‑CBDC settlement platform it shares with China, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Building where that corridor is already forming — rather than waiting for it to reach a market we'd have to enter later — is a deliberate first‑mover choice, not a default one.
What "pre-seed, pre-launch" actually means
We say this plainly, everywhere on this site, because we'd rather you know exactly what stage we're at than oversell it: ImmiCrypt is not currently a bank, a money services business, a virtual asset service provider, or an immigration law firm. Nothing here is a live financial or immigration service. What exists today is the thesis, the architecture, and a small group of design partners and early conversations with advisers, family offices, and government counterparts — the groundwork a rail like this needs before it can responsibly handle a single dollar, euro, rupee, or dirham of client funds. Our five platform verticals describe what we're building toward, stage by stage, honestly labeled with where each one actually stands today.
How we think about the work
Three things guide how ImmiCrypt is being built, ahead of anything resembling a product launch:
- Compliance first, not compliance eventually. Every vertical we're building — Travel Rule‑aligned KYC/AML, Basel‑referenced custody, ISO 20022‑compatible settlement — is designed around the standard a regulator will actually ask for, not retrofitted onto something built for speed alone.
- Currency‑agnostic, corridor‑aware. We're not betting on one blockchain, one stablecoin, or one CBDC. We're watching the corridors central banks are already building — like mBridge — and designing to plug into whichever goes live first for a given jurisdiction pair, documented on our Glossary.
- A standing relationship, not a single transaction. The CBI/RBI landscape moves fast — 2025 alone saw long‑standing routes tightened, restructured, or closed. Our Programs directory is built to be kept current, not written once and left stale, and so is the advisory relationship itself.
