mBridge.

Definition

mBridge (multiple Central Bank Digital Currency Bridge) is a shared cross-border settlement platform that lets participating central banks settle transactions directly in each other's CBDCs, without routing through the traditional correspondent-banking network. Current participants include the UAE, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand — the UAE's Digital Dirham completed its first live government transaction over mBridge in November 2025, settling in roughly two minutes.

Why it matters more than any single country's CBDC

A CBDC that only works domestically solves a retail-payments problem. mBridge is what turns a CBDC into cross-border settlement infrastructure — the same category of problem ImmiCrypt's Settlement rail exists to solve for citizenship and residency investment specifically. Central banks are already building this corridor; our stated approach, described on Government & CBDC partnerships, is to plug into whichever corridor goes live first for a given jurisdiction pair rather than building a parallel one.

Where India fits — and doesn't, yet

India is not an mBridge participant today. But the Reserve Bank of India has an active digital-assets memorandum of understanding with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and has held bilateral discussions with the Central Bank of the UAE toward a cross-border CBDC pilot — a different, bilateral path toward the same kind of cross-border settlement mBridge already provides its members. Two of ImmiCrypt's home markets (see About) are already talking to each other about this, through whichever channel — mBridge or a bilateral pilot — ends up live first.
